This policy explains what information we collect through hanfra.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the forms and messages connected to it.

Information we collect

Information you give us. We collect the information you choose to send us, for example:

your name, email address and message when you use the chat window or email us;
your email address when you sign up for our newsletter;
the information on a membership or affiliate application, such as your name, company, business and home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and license details; and
payment information when you pay dues or fees. Card payments are handled by a payment processor. We do not keep full card numbers on this website.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our website host (Wix) and the services built into it record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This is done with cookies and similar tools. See "Cookies" below.

How we use information

We use information to:

answer your questions and requests;
process membership and affiliate applications, renewals and dues;
keep member records and report membership to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR), as membership in HANFRA requires;
send newsletters and association news to people who asked for them;
run, secure and improve the website; and
meet our legal, tax and record-keeping duties.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

NAR and NYSAR, for membership records, dues and member services.
Service providers that run parts of our website and communications for us, including Wix (website hosting, chat and site statistics), Constant Contact (newsletter email) and payment processors. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
Affiliate listings. If you are an affiliate member, we publish the business name, logo and website link you provide on our Affiliates page.
Legal reasons. We may share information when the law requires it, to respond to a court order or subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of the association, our members or others.

Newsletter and text messages

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter email, or by writing to info@hanfra.com.

If you give us a mobile number and agree to be contacted by text, we may send texts about membership, dues and events. Consent is not a condition of membership. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts. Message and data rates may apply.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our site uses cookies set by Wix to make the site work and to count visits, and our embedded YouTube videos may set cookies from Google. We do not use cookies to show you advertising on other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work without them.

Tracking by other companies and "Do Not Track"

Companies that provide services on our pages, such as Wix and Google (through embedded YouTube videos), may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites through their own cookies. Their privacy policies describe what they do. Our site does not change how it works when a browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, because there is no common standard for responding to those signals.

Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as NAR, NYSAR, member firms and affiliate businesses. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please read their policies.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet. If a security breach affects your private information, we will notify you as the law requires.

How long we keep information

We keep member and application records for as long as needed for membership, for our legal, tax and association record-keeping duties, and to resolve disputes. We keep other messages only as long as they are useful to answer you.

Children

This website is for real estate professionals and the public. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices and requests

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to the records we must keep for membership, legal or tax reasons. If the law of the state where you live gives you other privacy rights, contact us and we will respond as that law requires. Write to info@hanfra.com or to the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date at the top.
